Mind That Child

3rd November 2011

Ph: Luke Stephenson

Lukes latest project, Mind that Child, was shot at Londons soon-to-be Ice cream van graveyard...as the majority of the vans we all know and love dont reach the EU eco standards and are set to all be scrapped in the near future.

He wanted to capture the vans, and their drivers, who were all a bit shy, before their new shiny, personality void replacments tinkle their tunes around our streets.

See the series on Lukes pages on the Blunt site, and click on click below to see the film he shot alongside the project... its very much worth a click, and pop the volume up !

Alpha Betes / a series of 26 animations of A to Z, is Damiens first large-scale video installation, produced in collaboration with animators’ Field, and sound designer Shtik.

Using each screen to represent a different letter of the alphabet, he has developed an animated and dynamic language that creates new and previously non-existant words. Inspired by the colours and the easy tones of children’s alphabet books. Using sound and animation to build up a continuous strip of characters with their own representative sounds or voices.

Through the development of a new language, the viewer is projected into another world between childhood and adulthood, a world of nonsense and abstraction. See link below for teaser ...
