Luke first met Simon Costin a couple of years back, when Simon invited him to shoot his collection of masks…of which there were hundreds!

For Hole & Corner, Luke shot a portrait of Simon and also around Simons home which is packed full of weird and wonderful ephemera. As the article says, Simon has enough Folklore art start a museum, which is exactly what Simon has done, founding the Museum of British Folklore.

Celebrating all things British is a passion that both Luke and Simon seem to share, and long may it continue!

Santa's Grottos

Ag: Fallon London

In 2010 Luke set off on one of his many personal projects, this one to capture the many Santa impersonators who don fake beards, & sometimes fake bellies (!), to ho ho ho their way through the UK, in shopping & garden centres alike.

Stepping into the grotto of as many Santas as he could find, Luke photographed them in an honest format to show off who they really are: normal men doing a job.

The project has now gone on show at Londons Fallon agency, along with a rather brilliant slide show, plus a little extra thats still to come …

Pub: LFI / Leica Magazine

This month Arnhel's classic black and white shot of a fisherman in Ecuador, stole pride of place in Leicas regular 'My Picture' slot.

The birds, captured in perfect flight above the fisherman's head, show us what true photography was comping, or re working but capturing a moment that you couldnt re create in the flesh no matter how many times you tried.

The art of film photography, a refreshing reminder!
